Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade

Item upgrade, commonly referred to as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade item increment results in an increase in linearity of a given stat.

Players can recycle six items at once to get a gauge of each item upgrading's upgraded component. The cost of recycling an item increases with its rarity and level.

Upgrade components

In Guild Wars 2, an upgrade to an item is a method to increase the stats on your armor and weapons. This can be achieved in a variety of ways such as using upgrade components or by increasing the rarity or mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could increase their stats.

Upgradable items can be found all over the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. Players can also make them. Upgrade components are the primary way to upgrade equipment. These are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade and some require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components provide specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.

There are a variety of upgrade components available in the game, such as universal upgrades, inscriptions and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed in any type of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific to the type of equipment. Glyphs can be placed in gathering tools, and provide various bonuses, from increasing the speed of an Best item upgrade's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.

To upgrade an item, select it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. The preview will be displayed on the right-hand side of the screen. It will display the expected stats after the upgrade. If you don't have enough of either the upgrade button will say Blocked.

The upper-right corner shows the number of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of an upgrade increases depending on the level of upgrade and rarity, however it can be reduced by many different ways, such as purchasing upgrades from a retailer or trading them to other players.

Most weapons can be upgraded with the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia or a rune, and many can be upgraded with an upgrade suffix. These upgrades can be used to add an adjective to the name of the item like "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".

Glyphs

Glyphs are a way to convey information via visuals. They are animated to grab the viewer's attention and spur curiosity in the brain. The animation of glyphs resembles body language, making them more effective in conveying the message across linguistic barriers. Glyphs can also enhance the recall of a message by evoking an experience of familiarity in the brain.

Each glyph has a range of values that it can improve a stat by in the form of an item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use it to enchant an Artifact. This is the maximum value that a glyph can improve a stat by and not the amount it will actually increase the stat by. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the item that you are enchanting.

The majority of upgrade components that are slotted into items cannot be repaired or replaced without dismantling the equipment in question, except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a rune or glyph you don't want to use but it hasn't been incorporated to the gear yet, you can transfer the item to another piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create an Glyph Set that includes the selected glyph.

If you want to remove a glyph from a piece of you must salvage it with the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is located will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be recovered with the glyph shards.

The addition of a glyph to an item can cause it to be unstable, and the shards that are left of that glyph will disappear from your inventory once you remove the item. You can also place an inscription on your equipment to increase its value. For example, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly rather than all at once. This is useful for players who suffer many hits from enemies but do not want to be overwhelmed.

Reroll tokens

Reroll tokens can be used to change the affixes that are placed on equipment and weapons. They can be obtained from various sources, including mysterious boxes, rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll gives the player a random affix that is generally better than the one they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.

Rerolled items do not appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they are still able to be upgraded. If you click the "upgrade button", you can recycle the rerolled items. This will change the appearance of the window for the item and let up to six items be chosen to recycle. Recycling an item can add a small amount of points to its gauge of level. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity and its level. Therefore, items that are higher level are more valuable to recycle than items with lower levels.

In addition to reroll tokens players can also make use of Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls are based on a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it scores higher, then the weapon is upgraded. If it rolls lower the weapon is left as it was. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.

Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, however, players should be aware that it could lower the overall ilvl of the weapon based on the number of rerolls required to increase it to the final level. This effect of lowering is most effective for ring items and Diadems, which have no competing ilvl-raising options.

Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to allow people to pay for it with cash or food items that will allow players to make adjustments to their builds without having to invest too much time. However paying for rerolls is not something the developers want to incorporate at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include a potion that will allow players to change their race in the future.

Leveling

There are several ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for any stat. The second is to boost the effect of upgrading, which increases the damage or heal of a specific stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item will retain its iLevel, but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.

It is crucial to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In most cases the chance of a better roll will result from glyphs, but there are also chances for greater or special rolls. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique kind of item, it has a chance of gaining an upper level.

Upgrading items can be costly especially when you're upgrading a piece of equipment from a standard to legendary track. The cost of upgrading an item will depend on the iLevel it's built upon and the amount of upgrade levels. Additionally, certain upgrade tracks require crests in order to achieve the next upgrade items level.

If you're lucky the upgraded item will reach the highest level of its upgrade track and unlock an additional bonus effect. This will result in a significant boost in the upgrade value of the item. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the effect of upgrading is increased by +3.

The iLevel will also change according to the upgrade path and its base level. For instance, an item that is upgraded from being a scarce or unique item to an exceptional one is likely to gain the enhanced defense of the new base item.
