World of Warcraft Item Upgrades

Upgrades to items can be used to increase the stats of an item. Based on the type of upgrade it could raise an item's Mark level or Rarity, and also boost other stats.

The process of upgrading equipment in The War Within requires a specified number of Flightstones and Crests Each item has an upgrade track. Each upgrade increases the cost of the following one by a specific amount.

Item Level

When an item is upgraded, its basic stats are increased in value. This value is the sum of an item's upgraded perks (attack magic attack and defense). Upgrades can be expensive depending on who you hire and what you do. This is because of how many perks must be replaced to allow the item to be upgraded.

Item level is a commonly used measurement of power and can be found on all item tooltips. It also serves to limit the amount of PvP gear players are able to wear as PvP is restricted at lower levels. Players can view their average item level in their character sheet.

The level of an item can help players compare the power of equipment when they decide to buy or sell. It's a measure of the damage and quality. The level of an item can be used to evaluate items when examining the inventory of a seller.

The item level can be checked by pressing the ALT key on your PC or using the left stick (L3) on XB1 and PS4. This will display the complete description of the item, as well as its ilvl. You can also locate it by hovering over an item and typing /itemlevel into chat.

There are several theories about how the level of an item is determined. One theory is that the item level is a numerical value derived from a formula that calculates the amount an item's stats are worth. It takes into account the fact that different perks have different worth and sockets have gems that increase the overall value of the item. This process can result in a calculated value for the item's ilvl which is usually quite close to Blizzard's real item level.

However, this is not the only factor which affects an item's ilvl, since the level of the area the item was dropped in could change the value of its stats, for example by adding a level to its haste or crit rating. Items dropped in higher-level instances will have higher ilvl.

Item Stats

The stats of an item can make or break an item for players. The game makes use of a lot of them in a variety of ways to encourage players to use multiple weapons, and also to stop one weapon from being "the best." The stat modifications of weapons boost base stats. These stat mods are then boosted by a player's skill.

The upgrades to items add by boosting certain stats on the item. The costs for upgrades are determined by the rarity of the item. For instance, a gray or white item can only be upgraded once, while items with rare tiers will be upgraded several times at higher prices.

Affixes are a different method to alter the stats of an item. They are stat boosts which can be added by the player to an item. The affixes are used to provide items with extra damage or other special capabilities (such as revitalizing dead or reducing cooling downs), or to differentiate them by adding a name.

Presently, all affixes are able to be modified by selecting them in the upgrade window and pressing the green button, which is accompanied by the arrows that circle. This process will cost the player a certain amount of gold as well as items, which can be added to the upgrade gauge in the same way as the other options for rerolling.

In addition to the possibility of rerolling affixes, players may also choose which stats they want to keep on an item upgrader mod after it is upgraded. The possible ranges of stats for an item are based on the item level, but all items are guaranteed to have at least one stat within that range, unless it's an exclusive item or an item that is a God roll from a raid boss.

This is another aspect that could be changed by adding an option to upgrade the equipment without having to reroll the affixes or deciding which stats to increase. As with base equipment, it would have to be done per item, and the item comparison interface will not show all possible stats simultaneously.

Item Luck

The Luck stat of a player boosts the likelihood of locating items and the properties that are spawned by loot and the strength of these properties. It does not, however directly affect damage or the ability to upgrade items. It provides players with an opportunity to get better equipment earlier in the game. This is more beneficial in the early game, since players tend to prioritize the scaling of weapons and defenses over raw damage gains.

Luck can also increase the chances of upgrading items at the Blacksmith. This is not to be confused with the Blacksmith's overall upgrade chance, which increases with each level and can be further increased by using an anti-material, such as a Scroll of Strength or a Jewel of Blessing.

Armor, shields and weapons come with a default Luck value of 40. These items can then be enhanced by golden ingots, spined leather, or oak boards (depending on the material of the item) to grant an additional +40 Luck or to increase the existing Luck of an item up to 140.

Additionally there are certain items, like the Hollow weapon, which is infused with Hollow can be outfitted to increase the damage dealt by any damage-dealing skill by 5percent. These items are available in the shops or made using the right ingredients.

Item Failure

Item upgrades are a costly process and not every upgrade will be successful. However, there are some cash shop items that allow players to boost their chances of success or even prevent them from losing an item if the upgrade is unsuccessful.

The success rate of an upgrade can be seen in the Honing UI. The percentage represents the probability of completing the upgrade successfully and can be enhanced by adding Additional Materials or Special Materials. There are limitations on how much the success rates can be improved, and the overall chance of an upgrade items failing cannot exceed 100%..

The success of an item can be affected by the Luck of that item. Every item has an overall success rate of 25%, and each item with Luck increases this chance by 5%.

It is important to note that upgrade items are rendered above the items in the inventory therefore enchantment glints and other effects could be obscured by them. If you wish to disable the upgrade overlays, the config option decoration.renderUpgradeOverlays can be set to False in the Item Upgrader CORE client config.
